Yes, we are. How much they pay will be dependent on your medical aid and your plan, but we charge medical aid rates. Please be aware we charge an afterhours fee of R380 after 17.30pm on weekdays, after 12.00pm on Saturdays and on Sundays and public holidays.
A resounding yes! Anyone in need is welcome to see us. We will always do what we can to assist you to the best of our abilities, within your financial means. Once we have done everything we can and should you still need hospital care, we may need to refer you to a state hospital. Your safety and health is our top priority and we know our limitations.
We have a number of in-house doctors on duty in the morning and early afternoon available to see both booked and walk-in patients. Please be aware, however, that if you do not book with one of doctors, you stand the chance of waiting to be seen as unfortunately, booked patients will take precedence. In the case of emergencies, we use a standard triage method of assessing patients. If you are bleeding or very ill, you will become our priority. You can see our list of doctors here.
No. Unfortunately, HSU doesn't have a dentist as a part of our team currently, but we are always open to expanding our scope of practice. Anyone wanting to enquire about job openings are welcome to email us or pop in.
Yes, we have specialists that come in from the larger hospitals to perform endoscopies every morning. To learn more, read more under Services>Endoscopy Call our unit for a general medical aid or private quote. We do both!
We are lucky enough to have a team of surgeons and gastroenterologists from Busamed Hillcrest and Life Crompton. See our full list under Services>Endoscopy, call the unit with any questions or pop in for a chat and we can address any concerns you have. We don't require a referral letter, but your medical aid might need one and they always help to give our specialists some background information before they meet you.
